A concept art I was asked to make into a wallpaper (1024x768) a while back. It is a Seelie Elf supposedly clad in Rose Armor. There is not much reference to roses here, though I still opted for an organic impression. Apologies for the obvious use of Photoshop filters :D Its a great, great tool, but I myself would rather tone it down when I can. Hope you guys like it.

*lukavi is a fairly unknown Deviant just recently brought to my attention. His illustration style is unique and somewhat storybook-like, with soft overtones so lovingly defined and yet easy on one's eyes. Seelie Elf is just one of his many amazing pieces, splashed with a muted array of etheral color in a digital painting style not unlike the supple strokes of watercolor art. it shows up very dark on my monitor, so I'm losing detail.

Love the design, and love the natural feel of it. You have a good hand; your style has a nice fluidity and sense of pressure on the shading balanced with linework.

I like it but a sense a VERY strong Vagrant Story influence...

Beautiful colors. The background is amazing, so soft and cool even though you used warm colors. Although you used the leaf brush it still looks really nice, I like the sharp contrast against everything else. Very nice lighting visuals. The character itself is drawn with your original style that always always looks good. Simple and soft brushing makes him look great.

Nice character composition, its probably the first time I've seen an elf drawn to size with a probable bulbious nose and not super defined features that make him so gawd awfully cute.

Conversely, that sword made of leaves has got to be the least effective weapon to date :D

Wonderful pic, love the lean look of the elf's anatomy and the colouring is amazing, kind of subdued and mystical. Awesome work.

I don't like it...I love it! :D
You have such a way to draw those armors, this one is especially amazing with this knd of melting between organic plant and metal. It is just too bad you used photoshop's filters, i think it kinda break with your style.
I'm still waiting to see some prints! ;)

what strange posture! But I like the armour -- its concept to start off with, and how you visualised it. It makes more sense, practically, to insist on the thorns rather than the roses themselves.

As for the PS effects: yes, you're bad. ;) However, the idea of those little firefly-like lights is very appealing. If you drew them by hand, smaller and less definite, perhaps give them a direction, too, it would be quite something.
